Who we work with

  • Do you live in Tyne and Wear?
  • Are you aged 18 and over, and eligible to work in the UK?
  • Are you unemployed?
  • Is a physical or mental health issue stopping you from finding work?
  • Are you worried that you can’t learn new skills?
  • Do you need help with job applications, your CV writing, or general confidence?

If so, Moving On Tyne & Wear is for you.

We are committed to helping you overcome the barriers that have prevented you from finding work or getting training before, and we will work hard to make sure you get the support you need as quickly as possible.

How we will work together

Once you are accepted into the programme you will be assigned a Navigator, who will give you the one-to-one support you need. Your Navigator will be with you every step of the way, reviewing what help you need and ensuring you get the right support from a range of specialist services, helping you build on your strengths.

The support we offer

  • Health and wellbeing
    We can help you to address your health issues which may be causing concerns about entering the workplace.
  • Disability support
    If you have a disability, we will support you to improve your employability and work-based skills, and we will give you access to work experience, volunteering, and internship opportunities that match your aspirations and skills.
  • Access to education and training
    If you need further skills or qualifications to get to where you want to be, we can help you find and fund training.
  • Employment skills
    Our Navigators are employability specialists who can help you find appropriate job openings, improve your CV, complete application forms, develop interview skills and much more.
  • Specialist employment skills, enterprise, and work experience
    Once you are ready to make a move towards the labour market, we will help you to choose appropriate support from a range of employability activities.
  • Volunteering
    Our established partners help participants find volunteering placements with local employers, where suitable.
  • Exit support
    To ensure that you get the support you need when leaving Moving On Tyne & Wear, a range of options will be provided to help you sustain employment and your training outcomes. Support will also be provided to employers working with the programme.
  • Employer engagement
    We support local employers to offer work experience, placements, and employment opportunities to our participants.
