A message of thanks to give others courage

We love it when we get feedback from those we work with. One of our Navigators recently received an email from one of her participants, and it’s hoped that by sharing it those who were perhaps nervous about getting in touch will see how much we care, the difference we can make and feel brave enough to contact us.

Hi Mandy,

Thanks for our chat today.  I can’t tell you how important it was to me.  Being asked how I am by someone who really cares about the answer is priceless.  You’re a great listener, and you ask about the wider picture, and that is helping me holistically.  I’ve been able to reach out to others, and that has made me feel stronger. Today you shared something that aligned yourself to me, and I was able to see how far I’ve come (on that hackneyed phrase) on my journey.  That is so helpful, so thank you for that.

During our conversation before that you talked about the difference in the service you are giving due to not being able to meet face to face, and we agreed it is different times we live in.  I was thinking about this, and despite the situation, I think we’ve built up a strong and trusting relationship over the phone nonetheless. After working on the phone all my life I’m skilled in reading emotions which replace the missing body language.

On our calls I can hear the kindness, sincerity and caring in your voice.  You’ve provided me with practical solutions, and interventions on behalf of me and my family.

Something else I’ve heard in your voice is sadness, and you shared that you worry if not seeing me face to face because of the restrictions, is giving me the best service, in comparison to that which you normally provide.  So I want to tell you please don’t feel you’re selling me short in any way, because I certainly don’t.  I feel cared for, supported, and that I have an ongoing plan thanks to you.  Your regular calls are a lifeline and a big positive difference to me.  You’re a credit to your company, and your profession.  And I thank you for that, especially at this most difficult time.  I only hope you are recognised for what you do, and that someone else is taking care of you in these difficult times too.
