Gail Brooks and her South Tyneside team have been busy spreading some festive cheer!
The team have gone above and beyond their usual day jobs to support Hebburn Helps, a community food bank and crisis response team. The team have supported Hebburn Helps for a number of years, through donations and volunteering and this year the team are supporting them through gift collections. They’ve collected for two children and an older gentleman in their local community, who would otherwise have no presents to open this Christmas.
The team received lots of fantastic donations, as well as contributing to the gift collections themselves. Each donation is brand new, so the team have spent their own money to buy presents and have worked hard to encourage others in the community to do the same.
Here are some photographs of the gifts that have been collected for the children, a boy aged 11 and a girl aged 5. The gifts include toys, art sets, and new clothes. All of these lovely presents will be sent to their parents to wrap in time for Christmas Day, so they can feel a part of the process.
The gifts for the older gentleman include a dressing gown with matching slippers, sweets, and some bath treats, all of which the team have wrapped and dropped off at Hebburn Helps for them to deliver.
Here’s a wonderful letter that the team have received from Hebburn Helps, expressing just how appreciated they are!
The team’s incredible generosity and kindness mean that these three people will have a Christmas to remember.
