We’re excited to showcase a host of employability-related events across Newcastle. If you’re out of work and live in Tyne and Wear, this will not be a day to miss!

This training programme is perfect for anyone looking to enter the food and hospitality industry. Get practical experience in managing a food event. Perfect for anyone looking to work in a professional kitchen or running their own pop-up food business!

Everyone in attendance will get a place on the training course however, the interviews are a great way to get informal advice on interview technique.

11am – 12:30pm | Choose from one of two workshops to develop valuable food/horticulture related skills at Ouseburn Farm Charity Ltd, Ouseburn Road, NE1 2PA

1) Bread & Butter Making – using fresh veg and herbs from the garden, participants are encouraged to create their own healthy bread. There’s nothing so satisfying as kneading the dough and inventing your own ‘signature homemade bread’.

2) Pot to Plate – Learn how to start growing your own produce at home with the help of our Horticultural Project Worker.

Here at the YHN Employability Team, we interview well over 100 people every year so we know what works and what doesn’t. In this
workshop, we’ll give you some tips and techniques on how to answer interview questions and an overview of what employers are looking for. We’ll also cover some of the ‘interview traps’ that people fall into, all of which will hopefully give you a better chance of getting the job you’re looking for.
