Have a Word (Alcohol Awareness Training) is a 2 and a half hour session which increases understanding around the scope of alcohol harm and how talking about alcohol can help people understand the risks they could be taking. It gives the learner knowledge about what is a unit and how to calculate units in different drinks. Also, what the current guidance for drinking alcohol and the health implications of drinking alcohol at increasing and high risk levels. Learners will also look at at alcohol and young people & children.
Learners will be provided with some free resources to take away on the day. All learners are required to participate in a follow up survey following training.
Who should attend? All Health care professionals, community workers and volunteers who work in the Sunderland, Washington and Coalfields area.
